Toy Industry Association (TIA) ha annunciato l’introduzione di diverse nuove categorie per la 17esima edizione del Toy of the Year (TOTY) Awards, tra cui Action Figure of the Year, Collectible of the Year, Construction Toy of the Year, Doll of the Year, Rookie of the Year e Vehicle of the Year. TIA ha, inoltre, annunciato che, in occasione della 17esima edizione del premio, sarà introdotto un metodo di giudizio più efficiente e trasparente che aiuterà a determinare i finalisti di quest’anno. Le aziende potranno candidarsi alle 14 categorie entro il 30 settembre, attraverso il sito TOTYawards.org. «Per quasi due decennia –commenta Ken Seiter, TIA vice president of marketing communications – i premi TOTY hanno celebrato lo spirito innovativo del settore dei giocattoli e la sua capacità di trasportare i bambini in mondi magici attraverso il gioco. Con l’introduzione di nuove categorie e di un processo di valutazione più semplice, stiamo assicurando che il premio rimanga sempre attuale e rappresentativo delle migliori creazioni ingegnose, provenienti da realtà imprenditoriali di ogni dimensione»
